The Iconic Australian Cattle Dog

At La Luna Pet Care, we cater to dogs of all kinds, large and small. As an Australian owned and operated business, we're proud of our heritage. So today we're celebrating the Australian Cattle Dog, one of our most iconic clients.

This hardy working breed originated in 1840 when cattle farmer George Hall bred British droving dogs with tamed dingos. What an interesting mix! And, as it turns out, a successful one. The Australian Cattle Dog is well-suited to the harsh Australian climate.

Not just great farm dogs, these pooches are also loving family pets. They are highly intelligent - ranked in the top ten of the most intelligent dogs! They thrive on plenty of exercises with stimulating training and games. They are great with children but watch out, they might try to herd your little ones to keep them in line! But maybe this could come in handy?

These doggos are known for their striking good looks, with a mottled coat and stumpy tail. The pups are just adorable! These unique qualities have made our home-grown heroes popular pets overseas, too. Another successful Australian export! And who wouldn't want one of these loveable dogs in the family?
